1.

What can massage do for me?

Massage can relieve stress and pain by releasing endorphins; increase circulation, joint flexibility, range of motion; decrease headaches, muscle spasms and cramping; improve sleep and aid digestion; relax injured, overused muscles; promote faster recovery from injury and surgery to name a few benefits.

2.

I've never had a massage before, what should I expect?

When you enter the office you will need to fill out a health questionnaire to help your therapist determine if there may be any contraindications to having a massage in general or to a particular technique. You will then be shown the dressing area.  You should only undress to your level of comfort. You will be kept completely covered except for the part the therapist is working on at the time.  If at any time you feel discomfort, let your therapist know. This includes lighting, heat or cold, pressure of the massage, etc.

3.

How often should I get a massage?

This question has no right answer. Some therapies require weekly or more frequent visits while others may only be once a month.  Since everyone is different discuss your specific problems and goals with your therapist to determine what is right for you. Massage is even more beneficial if taken in regular "doses".

4.

How do I know what kind of massage I should have?

You and your therapist can determine this when you come in for your appointment. Your therapist will be able to help you decide not only the type of massage you may find beneficial, but also the length of the massage.

5.

I've heard that I have to pay sales tax on a massage even if it is therapeutic, is that true?

The State of Ohio has determined that sales tax must be charged for massages, however if you have a prescription from your physician, dentist, or chiropractor, you will not be charged sales tax.

I've tried to call for an appointment but I always seem to get voice mail.

Many times the therapist is in a session, at these times the ringer is off so that it doesn't interrupt the session. At other times the therapist may be out of the office. Please leave your name and number and we will return your call as promptly as possible.

What is Reiki?
Pronounced RAY-key, it is a Japanese word representing the Universal Life force, the energy around and within us.  Reiki is a way of activating, directing and applying this natural energy for the promotion of health, balance, and wholeness.  It supports the body's natural ability to heal itself and is an adjunct to other medical treatments such as massage, acupuncture, medicine, and chiropractic.

 What is a "couples massage"?

Couples massage is, just as it sounds, for couples.  This may be husband and wife, mother and daughter, best friends.  We invite you and your friend or family member to use our double room and have a massage together with two therapists.  It's a great idea for birthdays, anniversaries, or just a friends day out.
